As if Qdoba, Panera, Chipotle, Padow's and Five Guys weren't enough to make the once-drab Willow Lawn area a thriving quick-food metropolis, the expansion continues.

The third Richmond location of Jason's Deli is slated to open July 10 at 1700 Willow Lawn Drive behind the new CVS.

And opening in August a few doors down from there will be Richmond's first Sticks Kebob Shop.

The Charlottesville-based quick-service restaurant specializes in flame-grilled kebobs and other Mediterranean favorites such as hummus and tabouleh.

This will be the third Sticks -- the other two are in C'ville -- and will accommodate about 60 people in the 2,500-square-foot space.

Co-owner Bill Hamilton says the concept is "to be an homage to a traditional kebob shop, but also make it accessible and fun."

Prices for kebobs, sandwiches, salads and platters will range from $6 to $9. Another specialty that Hamilton is excited about sharing is a new addition to the menu: mango-lemonade.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has introduced a summer menu special available through Sept. 22.

For $32.95 per person, diners can choose one of three entrées (bistro sirloin, barbecue salmon and mixed mushroom salad or smoked pork chop), a salad, side dish and dessert.

For cookie monsters: As immortalized in "Seinfeld," the black and white cookie is a special thing, especially to New Yorkers.

Trying to find one around here -- an authentic one, anyway -- is akin to finding perfect fried chicken in the North. It just doesn't happen.

Fresh Market carries a decent version, although its frosting isn't as dense as it should be. And Ukrop's now sells a tasty, crunchy, shortbread-like cookie that in no way resembles a black and white except that it's half black and half white.

But, as Table Talk recently discovered, a genuine black and white resides at Cupertino's New York Bagels and Deli (3621 A Cox Road). The sponge-like cookie slightly bows at its edges and the chocolate and vanilla fondant spread across the top has significant thickness, sweetness and stickiness.

It's definitely the same quality as any random New York bakery and worth checking out.

R.I.P.: Yeah, so it was in Chesapeake. That didn't make last weekend's shocking discovery that the only Virginia location of Fatburger had closed its doors June 16 any easier to bear.

The Santa Monica, Calif.-based chain has a small presence on the East Coast. The Chesapeake location, which opened in August 2005, boasted Virginia Beach hip-hop titan Pharrell Williams as an investor.

The closest Fatburger right now is at The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J.

But in August, former Baltimore Raven Orlando Brown will open a franchise in Columbia, Md., one of five he plans to unveil in the D.C./Maryland area.
