Chesterfield County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 4900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway early this morning that left a passenger critically injured.

An SUV traveling north on Jefferson Davis Highway ran a red light and collided with a small car exiting DuPont's Spruance plant, police said.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries.

A passenger in the SUV was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The condition of the passenger was not known.
