Richmond police have identified a woman whose body was pulled from the James River last week near the city's Hollywood Rapids.
Rosa Herbst, 49, of Richmond was seen in the water near the 100 block of Tredegar Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said it appears Herbst had drowned, but the medical examiner's office will make a final determination on the cause and manner of death.
It appeared Herbst had been dead for several days, a Richmond Fire Department spokesman has said. Herbst's family had filed a missing person's report with Richmond police on June 30.
