One person was killed in a motorcycle crash yesterday in Amelia County, state police said.

Colan Eades, 49, of Amelia was killed just before 3 p.m. when a GMC pickup truck pulled into his path on state Route 360 from state Route 604, state police Sgt. Tom Cunningham said.

Eades hit the truck and died at the scene.

The truck's driver, Samuel Lee Llewellyn, 70, of Amelia was charged with reckless driving. He and his passenger, a woman from Powhatan County, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

The cause is under investigation. Trooper C.A. Putnam is the lead investigator.
