Arraignment for former priest postponed
Monday, Jul 21, 2008 - 12:26 PM
A Louisa County judge postponed an arraignment hearing today for former Catholic priest accused of stealing from two local parishes he pastored.
Commonwealth's Attorney Thomas A. Garrett Jr. intends to change the dates of some of the 13 felony embezzlement charges against the Rev. Rodney Rodis.
Rodis' attorney, Jack Maus, asked to postpone the plea hearing because of the last-minute change by the commonwealth's attorney.
Rodis will be transferred back to federal custody in North Carolina, where he is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
