Richmond International Airport officials are investigating the latest crash involving fuel trucks and aircraft.
No one was injured yesterday when a truck driver backed into the left wing tip of a Trans State Airlines regional jet about 6:15 a.m., airport spokesman Troy Bell said.
The truck, carrying an undetermined amount of fuel, had a prominent dent on its rear panel, Bell said.
No one was aboard the plane, which was parked at the time of the incident and had minimal damage, Bell said.
Soon after the incident, the truck driver's security badge was revoked, and he resigned his position later in the day, Bell said.
He had seven months experience.
Bell said airport police are consulting with the Henrico County commonwealth's attorney's office about filing reckless driving charges against the driver.
The Capital Region Airport Commission in December 2006 approved a set of safety and training rules to address fuel-truck safety at the airport.
The rules were drafted after two incidents earlier in 2006 when commercial jets were struck by fuel trucks.
No one was seriously injured in either mishap, but they sparked more scrutiny of all ground operations.
