A pest-control operator charged with killing three feral cats faces possible jail time when he goes on trial today in Henrico County General District Court. Keith Copi, who operates the local office of Critter Control, apparently is the first person to come under an emergency provision of state law that prohibits killing a companion animal using a gas chamber. |
Henrico Five Henrico County police officers investigating the theft of a boy's bicycle last week couldn't immediately find the crook, so they did the next best thing. They bought 10-year-old RaQuan Swint a new bike. The officers were called to the Essex Village apartment complex the evening of Aug. 5, which happened to be National Night Out -- an annual event when neighbors and police get together to boost awareness and prevention of drug abuse and crime. |
Dominique Carter was shot in the head Tuesday night in Richmond's East End by her 10-year-old uncle. The girl's grandmother and the gun's owner, Judy Wright, was ordered held without bond this morning by a Richmond judge.
