A Powhatan County man died yesterday in a single-vehicle wreck in Richmond, police said.

Paul A. Barton, 55, was driving a van west on Hull Street Road shortly before 2 p.m. when he crashed while trying to turn right at East Belt Boulevard, Richmond police Capt. Paul Kiniry said.

Barton was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he died.

In Hanover County, a Massachusetts man was killed early Saturday after a hit-and-run on Interstate 95, Virginia State Police said yesterday.

Ronald H. Taylor, 65, of Wakefield, Mass., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred about 4:30 a.m. north of Ashland.

Taylor was outside a vehicle for a driver switch when a southbound tractor-trailer ran onto the shoulder and hit him, state police said.

The tractor-trailer kept going, and police said it was unclear whether the truck's driver realized the truck had hit Taylor.

Authorities asked anyone with information about the incident to call state police at (804) 553-3445.

Also Saturday, a 17-year-old from Montross died after a one-vehicle wreck in Richmond County.

Kameron Allen Napier was driving a pickup truck west on state Route 621 about 3:20 p.m. when it ran off the right side of the road and overturned after Napier overcorrected, state police said.

Napier, who had been wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
