An unidentified man died in a single-vehicle crash in Amelia County this afternoon, Virginia State Police said.

Police said the crash occurred about 5 p.m. when the man's sport utility vehicle ran off Five Forks Road about a mile west of state Route 153 and struck a tree.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said.
