Player of the year

Molly McKeon, Collegiate -- The Cougars' standout, a senior, is the player of the year for the second time. She also earned the honor as a sophomore. McKeon commands the midfield with her quickness and ability to read the field. She was instrumental in leading the Cougars to VISAA state title, scoring 18 goals this season, including one in the state final against Norfolk Academy. McKeon is a three-time All-Metro first-team selection. She has been all-state three years in a row and is this year's VISAA player of the year. She will continue her career at the University of Virginia.

The players of the year and all-Metro teams were selected by staff writer Arthur Utley using the all-Central Region and all-VISAA state teams as a basis and in consultation with area coaches.
