Player of the year

Katie Blow, Mills Godwin -- Last year's player of the year repeats the honor with an even better year. Blow won the Colonial District, Central Region and Group AAA singles titles and teamed with Nicole Parker to capture the three doubles titles as well. Blow also led the Eagles, who have played in seven consecutive state team finals, to an undefeated season and a second straight state team title. Blow became the eighth girl in VHSL history to win the state singles and doubles championships in the same year. The last to do so was former All-Metro player of the year Lindsey Howard of Godwin (2002). Howard and Blow are the only girls to win singles, doubles and team titles in the same year. Blow will continue her playing career at Virginia Tech.
