PROSPECT WATCH: Braves reliever Phil Stockman, bothered by an unspecified injury, threw a simulated game yesterday. Stockman (1-0, 0.77 ERA) has not pitched since returning from Atlanta on June 19. Left-hander Francisley Bueno (2-3, 4.60) has thrown two shutout innings since coming off the disabled list last week. Bueno had bicep tendinitis. . . . Tides outfielder Jeff Fiorentino jumped from Class A to Baltimore in 2004. He was claimed off waivers this past winter by Cincinnati, then by Oakland, and then reclaimed by the Orioles in June. Fiorentino, who suffered a fractured nose and cheekbone after being hit by a thrown ball earlier this season, is batting .243 with one homer and five RBI since joining the Tides.

HITS, RUNS ERRORS: Atlanta optioned outfielder Brandon Jones back to Richmond. To make room, the R-Braves released outfielder Mark Jurich. He was hitting .229-1-9 in 30 games. SS Brent Lillibridge also is on his way back to Richmond from Atlanta. . . . DH Barbaro Canizares (.300-9-40) will be Richmond's only representative in the Triple-A All-Star game July 16 in Louisville.
