SERIES: Four games at The Diamond; Tonight at 6, Braves left-hander Chuck James (3-3, 2.00 ERA) vs. righty David Pauley (10-2, 3.40).

PROSPECT WATCH: Braves SS Brent Lillibridge is showing signs of emerging from a season-long slump. Lillibridge, who returned from Atlanta yesterday, doubled twice and grounded out hard to third. He had back-to-back three-hit games before going up. He has raised his average to .212 . . . Pauley is tied for the International League lead in wins.

HITS, RUNS ERRORS: Pawtucket went into last night with the best record in the IL (57-33). The Red Sox lead the IL in batting average (.271) and ERA (3.58). Jeff Bailey (23) and Jonathan Van Every (21) rank 3-4 in home runs. Bailey (60) and Chris Carter (59) rank 3-4 in RBI.. . . . Game time was changed from the traditional 2 p.m. to accommodate travel by Pawtucket. The Red Sox played at home last night. . . . The Braves were swept in a four-game series at Pawtucket in late June.
