Richmond Braves pitcher Ed Rakow struck out a club-record 18 batters in 1967 -- and wasn't around for the decision. Rakow pitched 13 innings in a game Richmond eventually won in 16 innings, 1-0 over Toronto. He allowed only five hits. Rakow had 14 strikeouts after nine innings. He was followed by Cecil Upshaw, who fanned six in three innings.
