WOOD'S WINNERS
Third race -- No. 6 Seven Two Offsuit shortens ever so slightly today, but it should help the cause after fading just a touch last start. No. 4 Irish Chestnut drops back into claimers here and recent history shows that to be a good thing. No. 8 Grant Me Sunshine still is looking to crack into the win column after a dozen starts, but may be challenged by the distance. No. 6 to win.

Eighth race -- The $60,000 Daniel Van Clief Stakes headlines today's Family Day card. No. 1 Pleasant Strike is a Todd Pletcher trainee that has bankrolled over $165,000 in turf earnings, but has struggled in his last pair. One of those two races was a Grade II event at Gulfstream and the other, a tough allowance race at Keeneland. The going should be easier today. No. 7 Love Conquers is simply splendid when racing over the Colonial turf. This 5-year-old is looking to rebound off a pair of recent duds as well. No. 4 Frisky Thunder scored an impressive win in the recent Marsh Stakes here, but will face a larger and more intimidating field today. No. 1 to win.

Ninth race -- No. 1 English Rose has hot English jockey Sheldon Russell up top. The filly has been coming close of late and her breakthrough race could come today. No. 7 Queen Rio has stellar connections in rider Karamanos and trainer Jenkins, whose stable is off to another hot start. Her second lifetime start surely will top her debut. No. 3 Uncanny Nikol has been improved in each of her last 4 starts. She was second last time and the only place to rise to is the winners circle, and that could be tough. No. 1 is the choice.
