Four members of The Times-Dispatch All-Metro softball team have been named to the Group AAA all-state first team by the Virginia High School Coaches Association.

They were infielder Caitlin Manning of Prince George, pitcher Whitney Haller of Cosby, catcher Courtney Long (T-D's player of the year) of Hanover and outfielder Leona Rainey of Mills Godwin.

T-D pitcher of the year Lacey Waldrop of Thomas Dale, first baseman Stacey Snellings of Mills Godwin and outfielder Amanda Woolard of Hanover were second-team selections.

Pitcher Rebecca Mills and catcher Laura Bauer of New Kent were named to the Group AA second team.
