Player of the year
Kyle Parker, Mills Godwin - Mills Godwin was the dominant team in the Central Region once again with its sophomore standouts, Parker and Kevin McMillen, playing in the top two positions. Parker is the player of the year for the second straight season and is one of four Eagles on the All-Metro team. Godwin shut out 19 opponents and gave up only one point (to Maggie Walker GS) until its loss to James Robinson in the state semifinals. Parker won the district singles and doubles and was the district player of the year. He and doubles partner Kevin Calhoun won the region doubles and finished second in the state. Parker's only singles losses were to Philip Parrish of Douglas Freeman in the region final and Drew Courtney of Robinson in the state team and singles tournaments.
