PLAYER OF THE YEAR -- Collegiate's Tori O'Shea can handle a field hockey or lacrosse stick with aplomb even though they are entirely different. She is headed to Virginia Tech to play lacrosse, but she repeats as the Times-Dispatch field hockey player of the year. The Cougars' center midfielder was a four-year starter. She scored 11 goals (five in the state tournament) and had five assists this season. O'Shea was the League of Independent Schools player of the year and repeated as the state player of the year. She also was named to the all-South Region team by the national field hockey coaches association. The Cougars won the LIS tournament and finished second in the state after winning the title last year.
