HOUSTON - RH Roy Oswalt returned to Houston yesterday after experiencing more discomfort in his strained left hip. Oswalt (7-8, 4.60 ERA) was forced to leave Monday night's start against Los Angeles with the sore hip.
LOS ANGELES - CF Andruw Jones, in his first game off the disabled list (knee surgery), struck out four times in a 10-7 win at San Francisco. It was the 11th time in his career he's had four or more K's in a game.
MILWAUKEE - Talk has circulated about pursuing Cleveland LH C.C. Sabathia. Mentioned as the primary trade bait was Class AA Huntsville outfielder Matt LaPorta, Milwaukee's first-round draft pick in 2007. LaPorta was batting .291 with 20 homers and 66 RBI in 82 games.
NEW YORK - LH Johan Santana, a two-time AL Cy Young Award winner is 0-4 in his past six starts despite a 2.48 ERA in that span. He has never lost five straight decisions.
PHILADELPHIA - The bullpen, which entered the weekend with the lowest ERA in the majors (2.66), pitched 41/3 scoreless innings in a 3-2 win over New York on Friday night.

SAN FRANCISCO - LH Noah Lowry, who has not pitched this season after surgery on his forearm, will travel to Arizona during the team's upcoming road trip to begin playing catch.
